SKATE LESSONS

Start where you are. Work on what comes next

Work with Brian at the OC Ramps private skatepark in Santa Ana. Choose a private or small-group lesson based on the rider's experience and what they want to learn next.

Begin with the rider, not a label.

The useful starting point is what the rider can do now, what they want to work on and what support would help them practice the next step.

First-Time Riders

Start with stance, comfort on the board and the basic movements the current lesson plan is designed to teach.

Riders Building Control

Work on a clearer foundation before adding speed, obstacles or a more advanced goal.

Riders Ready for Ramps

Ask about a lesson that matches the rider's current board control, experience on ramps and the ramp skill they want to learn.

A Specific Sticking Point

Bring one clear skill or obstacle goal so the coach can determine whether it fits the current lesson scope.

Returning Riders

Rebuild comfort and choose a realistic next step after time away from skating.

Supporters Choosing for a Rider

Share the rider's experience and goals so the team can explain the current options without expecting you to know skate terminology.

Skate lesson questions

Who are OC Ramps skate lessons for?

Lesson fit depends on the rider's age range, current experience, goal and the formats or coaches available now. First-time, progressing and returning riders may all have a path, but the team should confirm the right starting point before booking.

What can a rider work on in a lesson?

Start with what the rider can do now and one clear next goal. A current coach can determine whether the lesson should focus on board control, ramp fundamentals or a specific skill within the approved curriculum. A lesson does not guarantee progress or a set learning speed.

Are private and group lessons available?

OC Ramps has offered both private lessons and group lessons with up to six riders. Only the formats displayed in the current booking options are available. Check the listed coach, group size, prerequisites, schedule and location before booking.

Where are lessons held, how long are they and what do they cost?

Lessons are held at the OC Ramps private skatepark in Santa Ana. Group lessons are $95 for one hour, and private lessons start at $200. Check the displayed location, duration, price and schedule before booking because each can change.

What should the rider bring?

Follow the preparation list supplied with the confirmed lesson. Board rental is $25 per class and helmet rental is $15 per class. Check the displayed equipment options and rates before arriving. The booking confirmation should also name arrival time, participant responsibilities and any required forms.
