Give the curb a new approach

Greg Lutzka's Curb Kicker brings a metal wedge to the spot you want to skate. Place it against a suitable curb or stair for a different approach, or use it as a launch ramp on its own. It arrives assembled, so choosing the position comes before choosing the first trick.

Bring the curb into the line

Use the kicker against a curb or stair to give the approach a wedge. Check how it meets the edge and the surface underneath before skating, then plan the path beyond it. The aim is to make the feature you already have part of the session you want.

Use it as a standalone launch

You can also skate the Curb Kicker as a launch or wedge ramp without placing it against a curb. Choose a clear approach and roll-away, then work it into the line as its own feature. That gives the kicker another job when the session moves away from the stairs.

Choose a painted metal wedge

Designed by Greg Lutzka, the Curb Kicker uses galvanized metal with a painted finish. It gives you a metal ramp to consider alongside wooden kickers when choosing what belongs in your spot. Inspect the contact points and riding surface as part of preparing it for each session.

Skip the assembly project

The Curb Kicker arrives assembled. You can focus on choosing its position, checking the fit and clearing the riding path instead of building a ramp first. That is useful when you want to add a wedge to the setup without setting aside time for a kit build.

Leave space beyond the wedge

The kicker is thirty-three inches deep. Allow room for your approach and the run beyond it, whether you are using a curb or skating it on its own. Our Space and Fit guide helps you check the full path before adding another feature to the spot.

Questions about Greg Lutzka Curb Kicker

How does the Curb Kicker compare with Launch WR?

Choose the Curb Kicker when you want a metal wedge for curb or stair approaches, or a standalone launch. Launch WR combines a launch with a back wall-ride face and coping. Compare the surfaces and approaches you want to skate rather than assuming the two ramps have the same job.

How does the Curb Kicker differ from the GB Kicker?

The Curb Kicker can work against a suitable curb or stair, or serve as a standalone launch. The GB Kicker is designed to connect to OC Ramps Grind Boxes, which are sold separately. Choose around the feature you want to approach: an existing curb or stair, or a compatible grind box.

When should I compare the Curb Kicker with a Wedge Bump or Bank Ramp?

Compare them when choosing a ramp approach for your spot. The Curb Kicker arrives assembled and supports curb, stair and standalone wedge use. The Wedge Bump and Bank Ramp require assembly. Consider whether you want to work with an existing curb or add a ramp face to an open area, then check each product's footprint and setup requirements.

How can riders use the Greg Lutzka Curb Kicker?

Use the Greg Lutzka Curb Kicker as a line-building obstacle for launches, ollies, and other tricks that fit its exact shape. Give the feature a straight approach and clear landing or exit, then progress from basic rollovers and controlled launches within the rider's ability.

Can I return the Greg Lutzka Curb Kicker if it is not the right fit?

Eligible unused products may be requested for return within 30 calendar days of purchase when they are in original condition and packaging with all included parts and manuals. What to Expect

We have two teams working around the clock to mass produce the beloved kits that are in high demand, after all we service ALL skaters worldwide! The fabrication time in our warehouse starts when you place the order as the information prints out directly to our team to start production. After the kit is created, the next process is actual transit time. We work with several carriers for a variety of our products to help cut down on transit times and delays.

Our Quarter Pipe kits (4ft wide Quarter Pipe & larger), Half Pipes, and sheets of GatorSkins or Skatelite Pro all ship on a double size pallet (4ft wide x 8ft long) via freight carrier. As the double sized pallet leaves our warehouse, the freight carrier will then begin the transit process to get your order over to your local delivery terminal. As your shipment arrives in your local area, the freight carrier will have an appointment setter call you directly to schedule an appointment for delivery. Just like when you book an appointment with the cable company, you will be given a 4 – 8-hour window of delivery.

The freight driver will then arrive at your residential delivery address on the day of your scheduled appointment. Please note that this will be a curbside delivery. The driver will not be able to pull into your driveway or any other requested area on your property. You will want to be sure to have 2 – 3 able-bodied adults, in total, at your place of residence during the delivery window to assist with the unloading of this pallet. Provided the size and weight of these shipments, a liftgate is not permitted and drivers are unable to assist with any of the hand unloading process. The pallet is easy to breakdown to execute a hand unloading process with yourself and a few additional helping hands.

The entire unloading process may seem daunting however it is a fairly simple process that can be executed within 10 – 20 minutes! Please keep in mind that delays may occur with the delivery. We understand that this can be frustrating. If you experience a missed appointment, please reach out to us and our team is happy to help.

If you notice any damages or issues with the order upon receiving, please proceed with accepting the shipment, but notate on the delivery receipt by stating “DAMAGE” when signing the delivery receipt. You do not need to itemize any material which was damaged when accepting the shipment. Once your shipment has been unloaded and signed, please email our team directly with the damage(s), proof of signed delivery receipt which has been notated as damaged along with full length pictures of the material which was damaged. We will work on resolving the issue immediately.

The internet has all sorts of terrible ideas as to how to quiet or dampen the sound of your skateboard ramp - in particular the mini ramps (or halfpipes).

You may read about wives tales on using insulation, filling the coping with whatever, or add pillows and blankets behind the ramp.  We are here to clear the air….that is all nonsense.

There are really only 2 suggestions to help quiet your mini ramp.

  1. You can close up the back of your skateboard ramp with ¾” thick plywood.  This will eliminate the hollow sound significantly.  Again, don’t read into the bogus information about filling in that empty space before you close it up with plywood.  It doesn’t work.  Simply closing up the backend will help with the noise.  Some customers will get creative with it- we’ve seen several put hinges on the backend - making a custom door for storage, etc.  That is entirely optional to make use of the space.  But in terms of noise levels, close it up.

  2. Also using a softer gel wheel is helpful to give you the incognito vibe your neighbors won’t complain about while shredding your skateboard ramp. Generally the harder the wheel, the louder they hear ya coming! Many skaters have multiple skateboards with a different set of wheels, most prefer the harder wheels during normal street skating use & then at night we switch over to the gel softer wheels so your neighbor’s can get their precious sleep & you can shred your heart out!  Not every skater likes riding a gel wheel.  There are many pros/cons.  For this conversation, the biggest pro for having a softer wheel is the reduced noise factor.  If you have neighbors that are goin to be a narc, just throw on the soft wheels!

    Absolutely worth it!

I finally purchased this kicker to use as a small transition at my home DIY skate plaza. But it’s super strong and durable and I’ve been able to easily set up fun kickers in my back alley and also just keep in my mini van. You never know when you’ll come across a skate spot that wouldn’t exist without adding the kicker. I brought it camping and set it up on rocks even. Very versatile and designed exactly for what it is needed for so not something I could make better or for cheaper. The metal is not like your typical base plate for quarter pipes. It’s Heavy duty. The design underneath to keep it stable on a curb or ledge also makes it really easy to carry. Totally recommend! Also not just as a kicker, but as a transition to create new possibilities of Wall rides!
