Bring a bump into your rail session

Bump to Butter pairs a twelve-inch bump with a seventeen-inch rail for a different approach to grinds and slides. The Butter surface uses a custom plastic composite, giving this setup a distinct rail to work on as you plan the next trick in your line.

Put the bump into the approach

The twelve-inch bump changes the approach to the seventeen-inch rail. Choose this feature when you want to work on taking a trick from a ramp onto a rail, with repeated attempts on the same setup. Plan the run-in and landing space around the trick you want to practice.

Meet the Butter surface

The Butter sliding surface is a custom plastic composite, rather than the metal surface of a traditional skate rail. If grinds and slides are the focus of your sessions, that material is a key part of choosing this setup. Get familiar with its feel as you work on the tricks you want to repeat.

Choose whether to add the flat section

Choose Bump only or Bump + Flat Section. The optional flat section adds thirty inches to the setup, so include that extra length when planning your spot. Our Space and Fit guide helps you leave room for the approach and roll-away as well as the obstacle itself.

Build it with a drill and photo instructions

Bump to Butter arrives in kit form with an instruction manual and photos. Allow an estimated one to two hours for assembly using a drill. Set out the parts before starting so you can follow the build sequence and prepare the feature for its place in your line.

Include wood care in the build

Plan for one quart of Skate Paint for the wooden ramp sections. Account for applying the coating before the first session, then keep the ramp's care in your routine. Our Ramp Care guide helps you look after the setup as the sessions add up.

I've ordered both a quarter pipe and an 'A-Frame' ramp from OC. The quarterpipe I've had for a year now, and as you see in my photos it's still I'm fantastic shape. My children use it as a slide so it's probably dirtier than it should be, but it's structurly sound and still in great shape.

The A frame ramp is amazing too. The railings are actually quite sturdy, and the ramp itself is extremely solid.

What's even more impressive is the shipping time. I was offered free shipping on both products, and my A frame for example, it came all the way from California to upstate NY WITHIN ONE WEEK!

I was able to build both products alone, and trust me, I'm no mechanic or construction genius.

I'm extremely satisfied with both products from OC. It's worth the money to have your house be the hang out spot for your little skaters.

I purchased a Ramp from OC Ramps this Christmas for my son who has been asking for a ramp for quite some time. I definitely had concerns that a ramp purhcased online would not be a quality ramp.. I was WRONG! OC Ramps definitely knows how to put out a quality product. The Lumber that they use is definitely quality and hand picked for a precise fit. My son and his friends have been on this ramp almost daily since Christmas! I Highly reccomend OC Ramps if you are looking for a High Quality Ramp. Thank you OC Ramps!

Instructions are easy to follow, and everything went together well. The rail is sturdy, and it anchors well. Just be sure to screw into 2x4s underneath. I can’t find a thing to complain about. Great product.

Frequently Asked Questions

Questions about Bump to Butter Skate Obstacle
How does Bump to Butter differ from Bump to Rail?

Bump to Butter uses a custom plastic composite for its sliding feature. Bump to Rail offers a welded rail obstacle. Compare the type of grind or slide you want to work on and the material you prefer under your board or trucks.

What is the difference between Bump only and Bump + Flat Section?

Bump + Flat Section adds a flat section that extends the setup by thirty inches. Choose Bump only for the version without that extension, or add the flat section when the extra length serves the line you want to skate. Include the extension in your space plan.

How do I choose between this combo and separate obstacles?

Start with the route you want to skate and whether the same bump-and-slide approach will get regular use. If you want to place obstacles on different routes, compare individual products and their setup requirements. For Bump to Butter, choose between the Bump only and Bump + Flat Section versions to suit your plan.

How can riders use the Bump to Butter Skate Obstacle?

Use the Bump to Butter Skate Obstacle as a line-building obstacle for launches, ollies, and other tricks that fit its exact shape. Give the feature a straight approach and clear landing or exit, then progress from basic rollovers and controlled launches within the rider's ability.

Can I return the Bump to Butter Skate Obstacle if it is not the right fit?

Eligible unused products may be requested for return within 30 calendar days of purchase when they are in original condition and packaging with all included parts and manuals. Customized, used, skated, damaged, or incomplete products are not eligible, and freight, original shipping, processing costs, and a restocking fee may apply. Review the current OC Ramps Return Policy before ordering.
