One bump and rail. A line to make your own.

Bring a bump-and-rail line into your home setup. Bump to Rail pairs a twelve-inch wooden bump with a seventeen-inch rail running along its edge, giving you one connected obstacle to work into a run. The kit and photo instructions help you get from the build to the session. Photos show the earlier black rail. Your kit ships with a red rail.

Work on the connection between bump and rail

The rail runs along the edge of the wooden bump and across its crest. Work on your approach and rail trick with both parts of the obstacle in the same relationship each time. It gives your home setup a line to return to, whether you are repeating a familiar trick or working toward the next one.

Leave space for the whole line

The four-by-eight-foot footprint covers the obstacle, not the run leading into it or the roll-away beyond it. Position the feature around that complete path and how it meets the rest of the setup. Our Space and Fit guide helps you think beyond the product's rectangle before deciding where the bump belongs.

Size up the bump and rail together

The bump stands twelve inches high and the rail seventeen inches high. Picture your approach through both features when choosing this setup. If you already skate a standalone rail, the wooden takeoff adds a different part of the line to work on.

Build it with a drill and photo instructions

Bump to Rail arrives as a kit with a photo instruction booklet. Assembly is estimated at one to two hours using a drill. Give the pieces room to be organized before you begin so you can follow how the wooden bump and metal rail come together, rather than improvising their connection.

Give the wooden bump some protection

Add the one-quart Skate Paint option to coat the exposed plywood before the first session. The wooden bump and finished red rail have different care needs, so keep the coating on the wood. Our Ramp Care guide helps you plan protection and upkeep as the obstacle becomes part of your regular setup.

It’s perfect for my drive way. No longer have to rush to the skatepark every day and can skate from home. Perfect for learning how to do hand rails, front side and back side. Best part is, is that it even separates so you can have a gap to skate too! Highly recommend this ramp!!!

Frequently Asked Questions

Questions about Bump to Rail Skate Obstacle
How does the Bump to Rail Skate Obstacle compare with the Triangle Apple Rail?

Bump to Rail combines a 12-inch wooden bump with a 17-inch rail along its edge. Triangle Apple is a low, six-foot triangular obstacle with coping along the top ridge. Choose the shape that fits the lines and tricks you want to practice.

How should rider experience affect the Bump to Rail Skate Obstacle decision?

Think about the tricks you already have and what you want to learn next. The wooden bump is 12 inches high and the rail is 17 inches high. Compare those heights with obstacles you ride comfortably, and leave a clear approach and exit for practice.

Should Bump to Rail anchor a route or connect two parts of the setup?

It can serve either role depending on the surrounding space. Use it as an anchor when the connected bump and rail are the main practice feature. Use it as a connector only when the run-in and roll-away tie cleanly into other obstacles without creating crossing traffic.

How can riders use the Bump to Rail Skate Obstacle?

Use the Bump to Rail Skate Obstacle as a line-building obstacle for launches, ollies, and other tricks that fit its exact shape. Give the feature a straight approach and clear landing or exit, then progress from basic rollovers and controlled launches within the rider's ability.

Can I return the Bump to Rail Skate Obstacle if it is not the right fit?

Eligible unused products may be requested for return within 30 calendar days of purchase when they are in original condition and packaging with all included parts and manuals. Customized, used, skated, damaged, or incomplete products are not eligible, and freight, original shipping, processing costs, and a restocking fee may apply. Review the current OC Ramps Return Policy before ordering.
