A wooden skate ramp needs a care plan that matches its construction and where it will live. OC Ramps offers Skate Paint and dedicated riding-surface products, but they are not interchangeable. Start with the exact ramp, the material already on it and the instructions for the product you are considering.
If you are still comparing a new ramp, review its available surface and coating options before buying anything separately. A selected configuration may already include an option, and not every upgrade is offered on every product.
Understand coating and riding-surface choices
Skate Paint is a protective coating product offered in multiple container sizes. Gator Skins and Skatelite are dedicated riding-surface products. Compare preparation, coverage or sheet requirements, installation and care using the specific product information rather than treating the three choices as versions of the same upgrade.
The top layer is part of a wider system. Substrate condition, seams, edges, fasteners, drainage and exposure still require attention. A premium surface does not turn every underlying structure or site into a maintenance-free ramp.
Build inspection and upkeep into the session
Inspect the riding surface, edges, seams, coping and visible structure regularly enough to catch a change before it becomes a larger repair. Keep the ramp clean and dry enough to inspect safely, and follow the ramp and surface manufacturer's instructions when something needs attention.
