OC Ramps on Tour With Metallica

Last week, OC Ramps had a once in a lifetime opportunity to follow Metallica on the Texas leg of their Summer 2017 tour! This trip came with VIP passes that gave us access to EVERYTHING, dressing rooms, great food, backstage passes, and most importantly the most amazing seats in the house. In 2015, James Hetfield, the lead singer of Metallica ordered a mini ramp halfpipe from us for his teenage son. They received the ramp, where they installed it up in Northern California and they thoroughly enjoyed the product, as well as the services that we provided for them. Soon after, in 2016, we were doing a collab of videos and marketing with the t-rex character, Ralph the Rex. You can view a link to our video with Ralph the Rex here. As luck would have it, the man behind Ralph the Rex, Daniel, has a pretty awesome connection to Metallica... his uncle is lead singer James Hetfield. Daniel is also studying for his MBA at CSULB, and needed to intern for his degree. He was excited to do an internship for OC Ramps, where he worked on marketing, the action sports industry, etc. As we worked together, we planned to follow our dreams, and follow Metallica, and we decided on a 3 stop tour through Texas. In early June, we flew out to Houston, and immediately after landing we picked up our rental car and slapped on our Metallica and OC Ramps logos on the windows. We saw the first show in Houston, and we were able to meet with the band and talk with them in their dressing room. The backstage passes allowed us the ultimate access to anywhere in each of the three venues we visited. Metallica put on an incredible performance, as expected. The next day we drove several hours to San Antonio, and a few days after we headed out to the Alamo dome. After leaving San Antonia, we made our way to Waco, where we got to experience one of the worlds first wave machines. From there, we drove on up to Dallas/Arlington for the third and final leg of our epic road trip. We met at the venue early, so we could meet up with James and hang out with him and his family. Their final performance was yet another incredible, unforgettable, experience. Day seven we flew home, and went back to business as usual here in Orange County. We hope to follow Metallica soon to even more of their shows! Save
