Ramptober 2024 Recap: A Legendary Night of Skating, Community & Celebration
This year’s Ramptober was truly one for the books! Celebrating the 14th year of our annual event, we pulled out all the stops & obstacles to make it the biggest AND best party yet at OC Ramps.
Our warehouse transformed into a skater’s playground, filled with obstacles, rails, ramps, and a halfpipe utopia, with the doors wide open for the public to come and experience our setup.
The turnout was incredible, with over 500+ attendees, many decked out in creative costumes that made the night all the more colorful and unforgettable.
Ramptober is a blend of community vibes, skate culture, and pure fun. Whether people came to skate, chill, or just soak in the atmosphere, there was something for everyone.
The live DJ kept the energy up, spinning beats that had everyone vibing as the night unfolded.
For the thrill-seekers among us, our friends from Whoop Axe Throwing set up their mobile axe-throwing booth right outside—a huge hit with the crowd and perfect for those looking to add a little adventure to the evening.
And what's a night of skating without great food? Thanks to Wahoos Taco, the first 100 costumed guests enjoyed free burritos, chips, and salsa.
The tasty bites fueled up our skaters and fans alike, even called in pizza to keep the good vibes rolling.
Even the kids had a special space to make their own memories. We set up a kiddie corner with coloring books and a big piñata filled with treats. The kids definitely brought their batting skills for the love of candy!!
And let's not forget the S'mores cookies from Doughlishous Bakery. Not only were these chocolate chip cookies sourdough and gut-healthy—a total win for parents, they were a HUGE hit with the kids.
Waxx Bars came through with a booth handing out free merch and slushies and even sponsored a cash-for-tricks contest, offering up $1,000 in prize money.
Skaters of all levels were out there showing their skills, taking on the custom-built skate elements we set up just for the event.
The skate layout featured a spooky graveyard bump-to-rail, a 20-foot-long ledge. A grindable casket, a 7-foot-tall Quarter Pipe, and our epic triple halfpipe skatepark.
The tricks were flying, the energy was high, and the crowd was in awe as skaters pulled off jaw-dropping moves.
The night hit a major milestone with an unforgettable moment when the Dern Brothers officially turned pro!
Jamie Thomas himself was there to hand over their pro skate decks, creating an iconic scene that inspired everyone in attendance.
It was such an honor for all of us at OC Ramps to be part of their journey and share in this special moment with them.
Ramptober 2024 was a blast, and the night couldn’t have gone any better.
Watching the crowd, from young skaters just starting out to seasoned pros, enjoying every minute reminded us why we love hosting this event year after year. Ramptober brings together everyone who shares a love for skateboarding, community, and good times.
We're already planning for next year and can’t wait to go even bigger! Until then, keep the stoke high and keep shredding!
