Our good buddy Benjie reached out to us as his non profit organization, Six Feet Above was planning an eventful retreat for an amazing group of brave & talented individuals. 

When OC Ramps gets the opportunity to open the warehouse skatepark for Six Feet Above Veterans, we’ll ollie sky high every time for these peeps! 

Needless to say our guest list was pure VIP level - Veterans from all walks of services! So of course we needed to invite our good friends & professional skate team riders - Mark Appleyard, Cody Mc Entire, TJ Rogers & Shawn Hale to join the fun! What’s a little friendly game of S.K.A.T.E with some professional skateboarders?! So for this round we spiced it up by having a guy from each branch of the military (one skater from marines, navy, army etc). 

The lucky winner of the game was a shredder from the Space Force!!

Over just a few hours everyone got very cozy & comfy as we all share a similar passion for skateboarding and then some! We had some in depth conversations to explore more of each individual that came for the event, kinda peeling the layers of an onion per say. We realized very quickly we had more of the same hobbies than just skateboarding - we have compassionate hearts, eager to give back & creating a camaraderie within our community. Building strong connections & literally just being a solid human being for another person who may or may not be struggling. It was truly a great day with some amazing people & we cannot wait for our next opportunity with the next retreat guests!
