The Best of Gaming and Skateboarding at SoCal Expo 2024
Gaming meets skateboarding for one insanely fun and unforgettable convention at SoCal Gaming Expo!
Since 2015, this event has been the go-to for gamers of all kinds, whether you're into retro classics, next-gen consoles, or anything in between. Set in an expansive 80,000 sq. ft. space at the Pasadena Convention Center, just a quick 10-minute drive from downtown LA, the expo has grown into a must-attend event for the entire gaming community.
Whether you're hunting for collectibles,
participating in epic gaming tournaments, or just vibing with fellow gamers and cosplayers,
SoCal Gaming Expo is the ultimate destination.
The event offers something for everyone, from over 200 vendors to arcade machines, anime showcases, cosplay contests, live music and of course, skateboarding!
This year, OC Ramps was honored to set up our famous TMNT movie ramp at the event, with a lineup of professional skaters shredding alongside the gamers. Big names like Jaws (Aaron Homoki), David Loy and Shawn Hale dropped in, and the crowd was buzzing with excitement as these pros threw down insane tricks.
It’s rare to see skate culture and gaming collide, but the energy from both communities made it a perfect blend.
On the morning of the event, our team arrived early to assemble the halfpipe, positioning it right next to the skateboarding video game tournaments—could there be a more fitting spot?
As the doors opened, the convention center filled with gamers and cosplayers, and you could feel the intensity rise.
The vibe was electric.
Everyone in their element, meeting up with friends, fellow fans, and even some of their favorite pro gamers.
The OC Ramps skate team got right to work on the mini ramp, showing off kickflips, grinds, and ollies, while new shredders from the crowd eagerly joined in on the fun. At one point, boards were flying, tricks were getting landed, and the energy of the crowd hit its peak as skaters and gamers alike got in on the action.
The love and support we received from the gaming community blew us away, and it’s safe to say this won’t be our last time at SoCal Gaming Expo. We’re already looking forward to next year’s event, and we can’t wait to bring even more ramp action and good vibes.
