When the site can give it room, a sixteen-foot-wide half pipe becomes a place to keep finding new lines. Start with the three-and-a-half-foot base, then choose no raised corners, one five-foot corner or two. This is a broad connected ramp to build your skating around, with surface options and help from OC Ramps when your idea goes beyond the standard layout.

Put sixteen feet of width to use

The sixteen-foot span gives you more room across the transitions than the twelve-foot model while keeping the same base height. Think about the approaches and coping lines you actually want to skate across that width. Our Ramp Shape guide helps you weigh the wider face against a taller transition, so the extra ramp serves the session rather than just filling the site.

Choose where a taller corner belongs

Keep the three-and-a-half-foot base or add one or two five-foot corner extensions. Those options raise corner sections, not the whole ramp. The base is sixteen feet wide and 22 feet eight inches long, so allow room for deck access and the surrounding work area as well. Separate the wood layer from the riding panel

One plywood riding layer is included. You can add a second plywood layer or select a separate top surface in GatorSkins Brown, GatorSkins Green or Skatelite Pro. The plywood supports the riding surface; the optional panels determine what your wheels contact. Plan paint for more than the riding face

Choose Skate Paint separately if you want a coating for exposed plywood. Even with GatorSkins or Skatelite on top, the decks, sides and other wood areas still deserve attention. The kit includes prepared wood components, counted hardware and photo instructions, with a drill required and an estimated six to ten hours of assembly. Prepare the site and room to organize the parts before starting.     The perfect graduation gift

    My daughters, Niki and Mimi, ages 20 and 22, graduated from college and trade school and asked for an OC Ramps skate ramp for their joint graduation gift. I dint know much about the company, but had a really positive experience. Tyler was so positive and helpful and was genuinely stoked that my adult daughters were all in on getting a 16 foot ramp with extensions. We had a little hiccup with the delivery and Tyler handled it well and provided solutions so the girls could have the ramp ready for their summer party.     So sick. We love it.

    2 ply birch is the way to go. The assembly is easy, everything is pre cut and drilled. Took (2) of us about 9-10 hours to complete. Make sure you have a level surface before install and put it up on wide blocks (evenly distributed). I recommend a very slight grade towards one of the corners for water run off. Sitting water never ages well on a ramp. Also the skate paint also is a must. 2 gallons for a 16 foot wide ramp was perfect. Its thick, so apply with some pressure, also don't be afraid to work it in the ramp and nap up the any residual (excess paint will create drip marks).

    Only thing I recommend is slightly longer surface screws that have grooves all the way to the head. We did have a slight issue with screws not grabbing the framing 100% of the time.

    Ordered a 16ft wide ramp for my friend for Christmas. Everything was awesome. Customer service answered all of my questions quickly before buying, it was shipped out relatively quickly considering we live on the other side of the country. Super easy to put together and we were skating it in a couple days after the paint dried.

    We were blown away by the quality of the ramp kit we purchased! Honestly, the most difficult part was leveling the pavers that we used underneath the ramp.

    The materials are decent quality and the instructions are clear and logical. Any questions or issues we had were quickly answered by the team either by email or even Instagram DM. I will say that if it is only two people building (like it was for my husband and me) it will take a little bit to assemble. Once we got the ground level, it took us roughly 2 weeks to build, but that was after work hours. We put in a good 2-3 hours of work daily, but if we weren't juggling kids and work schedules it could have been done in less than a week.

    Overall, we are incredibly happy with our purchase, the quality, the service, and the result!! My husband and 7 year old love to skate together, and there are no skatepark out in the rural countryside where we live. So, we brought the skatepark to our backyard thanks to OC Ramps! 😀
