E3 with Samsung and Lil Wayne
Earlier this week the OC Ramps crew headed up to LA to set up a halfpipe for Samsung and Lil Wayne. They ordered a custom ramp from us that was 11 feet wide, 3 and a half feet tall and 30 feet long. We also created custom platform decks at the top that were each 5 feet deep. The event that we created this for was E3, which is an annual trade fair for the video game industry presented by the Entertainment Software Association (ESA). It is used by many video game publishers and accessory manufacturers to introduce and advertise upcoming games and game-related merchandise. While we were building the ramp on Monday, halfway through building it there were reports that Lil Wayne had just had seizures on his flight. There were concerns that due to his health, he would be unable to perform. Samsung and ourselves were both scrambling to find alternatives if he would be unable to do the performance. Luckily due to the fact that it was a small set he was still able to show up and give an awesome show! We had a ton of fun building this ramp and doing this demo with Samsung, and E3 was a super rad event for us to be apart of.
